I am Sampriti Manna and I am currently in the Bachelor of Media Studies program at the University of British Columbia. I plan on minoring in visual art.
Being an Indian immigrant who lived in Hong Kong brought a lot of perspective to my life, especially in terms of my cultural belonging. I often find myself questioning my own intersectional identity. With these thoughts in mind, I produced a whole body of works for my IB exhibition component.
My art practice is highly informed by my queries of being a young woman of colour living in an international city. I strive to explore the topics that specifically affect me such as my response to the religious and familial distance I feel living away from India.
Learning Significance
